THE CLUB
Founded in 2026
We are a Florida non‑profit formed to promote, preserve and celebrate the culture and traditions of the Podhale region and the Góral community.
We meet through the year — for New Year, for the holidays, and whenever there is a good reason to cook for a crowd. What ends up on the table depends on the occasion and on who is doing the cooking: kiełbasa z kapustą one time, pierogi or placki ziemniaczane the next, somebody’s cake, usually a Polish beer to go with it. There’s Polish music, there’s dancing, and by the end of the evening it feels less like a club than one large Polish family.
You don’t need a ticket and you don’t need to sign up. Come to whichever gathering suits you, whether your family came from the mountains or you simply like the food and the company.
AT THE CHAPEL
Twice a month the club gathers for Mass at the historic St. Stanislaus chapel, built by Polish families in 1915. Everyone is welcome.

A solemn Mass, and a picnic at the farm afterwards — food, music, and room for the children to run about. Everyone welcome.

SINCE 1915
A small group of Polish farming families bought land here in Hernando County and built the first St. Stanislaus in 1915, so they’d have somewhere to go to Mass in their own language. A priest came out from St. Leo Abbey once a month. Fire destroyed that first church in 1929 and the community rebuilt it the same year — the plain clapboard building that still stands today.
Poor soil and the Depression eventually scattered the settlement, and for years afterwards Mass was said here only once a year. That’s changing. The club has brought the little church back to life, and Mass is celebrated here twice a month again.
